what's up everyone we are live on the video supply podcast welcome i'm dallin nead and we have mr josh crandall our creative director of our agency hi guys i'm mr josh crandall i don't know mr man here we go let's play the song a little bit i don't know if anyone can hear it i don't know if we played at the opportune time but i figured we'd introduce this podcast with some fun upbeat music get you excited to learn about how to use video to grow your online business yeah okay i'll fade it out fade it out there we go there we go okay so let's do this um first i wanted to talk about what uh what our vision is with video supply on a grander scale content supply um that's that's our main business and content supply is our way of helping businesses and brands and people all around the world get their message out and help serve people and help achieve their vision because really uh our our mission is to inspire others to discover and live their perfect future by helping them build an impactful brand through crafting a powerful brand message building a marketing plan that works and then creating transformational content like video to communicate their vision with the world that's why we exist it's all about positive messages to help serve other people and video is uh we're a little biased but is the most powerful type of content to get your message out there and to sell your products and services and to help people get inspired and change their lives really and at the end of the day because video can do just that it uses every form of content imaginable from the audio experience to the visual experience to the written experience and i mean who doesn't love going and watching a good movie right and that's a form of video communication so that's what we're here to do is to totally um use your video um powerhouse um to get your message out there so josh let's uh let's speak this a little bit more so video supply um why do we have video supply as our advertising framework

well well you might need to rephrase that question for me down what do you mean by that well like why as in like um like why does it exist like you know we spoke to the goal of con of content supply but like why do we use video supply inside of our agency like what uh what does the framework look like and how do we help people be successful yeah so i mean like yeah so so actually dallin has you know started content supply years ago and has developed this this very um you know tried and true process in order to serve clients in the most effective way possible and it really maximizes uh the client's time right and really minimizes the headache of of actually doing the whole portion of content creation themselves uh which i'm sure many people i mean if you're listening and you've tried to create your own content and it's not a and are not a content professional you you might be relating to uh to what i'm saying here but basically um you know and and by the way you know everything that we talk about we're we're talking mainly today about the uh the uh oh what's the name of the the pdf dallin the video supply guys so you can see here we're sharing our screen if you're live with us or watching this replay um and obviously we're publishing this as a podcast as well but the video supply guide is just that our advertising framework and we we actually like i i personally um brought josh and we've been long-time friends and partners on different projects and i brought him in to lead the agency forward in building out this guy getting into the hands of more brands around the world and in doing so we can truly help people get their message out there with video and josh is now this video genius master sherpa um sensei right all those amazing like guide terms to guide you up this mountain that can feel kind of daunting as as a business owner um as a marketing agency and to be like okay like yeah i know video like everyone knows video is important but how can we actually use it to grow our business and that's that's why i put together this video supply guide it's basically like a curation of what i've learned over the years what i've seen work and and doesn't work to really get clear and provide a simple plan for you to follow three-step plan to be successful with using video inside of your marketing and getting more people to learn about your products and services and and brand your ultimate vision so that that's why the video supply guide exists and we'll um we won't go through every single piece of it because it's like you see a it's like a 30 page guide i wanted to make it comprehensive to cover all the pieces because we literally take our agency clients through this guide and cover all the pieces we need to in order to develop their video advertising strategy but our our framework can be simplified into three easy steps uh step one is strategy step two is creation step three is promotion and so what uh what we want to cover is this high level here it's it's the one pager video advertising plan you need to use video to grow uh and so step one uh josh you wanna speak to that we have video strategy yeah for sure so yeah like dallas said these are these are the things that we take our clients through uh that really allow us to um capture their vision uh and help them to reach their goals uh and put into this the it's the strategy creation here on this document that i'm looking at uh really and and by all means i encourage you to download this if you're thinking about you know helping your own uh business but you can follow along here if you download that um but there's this section here that you get to write in yourself it says strategy so you know and ask yourself this question why do you want to create videos what results will your videos create for your business right so what we do is we uh we pose that question uh and we write it all out because that in turn is going to help us to achieve that goal as we uh as we move forward to the strategy process in that strategy process we we ask for uh you know if there's any assets that would be proved would prove to be beneficial in our content creation so we get all the all of your branding information maybe content you've previously created the design guide you know so that we can help design all of our stuff to uh um you know to tailor your videos to to fit exactly and then we go through creation and then and then the promotion so um yeah and actually to speak to that real quick um is uh so the strategy like josh was covering all these amazing things and and one thing that jumps out to me is like this whole idea of being a visionary um because at the end of the day like these videos are meant to help you achieve your vision so like why not have a vision for the next three months um our agency fits in a three month timeline we all we always start with three months because we can uh easily implement this in those three months right month one is all about the strategy month two is all about that creation month three is all about the promotion uh and so we wanna get clear like in the next three months what will your videos do for your business um what will success look like uh and so and we'll show we're showing it visual here on the video version of this podcast you can see uh josh you were mentioning how we do research right um we heard that a little bit the market research brand research customer product research because we need to understand um what kind of brand and you know we're helping to sell and especially what kind of products and people we need to sell and sell to and so here are some guiding questions um and a lot of these speak to in fact let's jump back up here like think about that for a moment we jump through it kind of quick but for you um using video to grow your business like what will that look like answer that question um as you're listening or watching this like what result do you want your videos to create for your business like what will success look like for you in the next three months uh because in knowing that and that may look like maybe um automating a certain uh product you have so it sells effortlessly or maybe it's uh to get more visibility to a brand new product or service maybe it's like a six-figure launch maybe it is um reaching 100 000 people if it's like a non-profit um or brand awareness related message uh whatever that may be for you and your brand getting clear on what that success will look like is definitely our first step because at the end of the day video is a tool in your marketing plan uh and so when we can use video to help grow your marketing then you can grow your cells and then you can grow your uh your business through the process because cells is definitely the lifeblood of every business and then uh and i'm just going to scroll down and do show some of these pieces real quick josh was mentioning these but just as a visual reference we definitely focus so much on messaging uh in fact just the other day um you know to show the power of our messaging framework we call it story supply we're really really creative with how we name things um where it's like everything has supply at the end but but story supply is our messaging framework and uh tayana one of our new agency clients um she was already really clear on who she serves um and uh and how she talks to her audience uh and we just took her through our framework in a matter of five minutes um we had literally every single piece we needed to guide our messaging um and uh our messaging for her business and though so we take that messaging and we put it into um how we go to script videos and uh and so that's a quick view at uh at our agency process and using uh messaging and then we insert that messaging as we mentioned in the video marketing plan and marketing is all about generating more traffic leads and cells and so we get clear on that and then we categorize um how we plan out our different videos based on whether it's a traffic video like an ad on social media uh or whether it's a lead video like a funnel video a sales funnel video on like your sales page or your website uh or we look at it whether it's a sales video like a product video um that people get access to after they buy a product or service to learn more about your brand and and those things like that so we plan videos like that then we go and script them for you then we plan out the distribution before we go to even do a production then josh mentioned the video branding assets and templates we build out for your brand and then we definitely work with both of our teams and different using different tools and we work super well together to build out your entire video supply and then the creation of the content in a two-day production most often um and then josh what would you say so like to speak to our productions like what does that usually look like um we're recording this at the beginning of 2021 but it's not always easy to do an in-person production right now yeah no not at all especially with these these covered things in place and that that varies across even state lines um but yeah like the that that film process the content creation process you know we really set that uh set everything up so so we tee everything up uh you know before we get out there with a list of videos that that you're going to need to market your business and we're really detailed on those lists you know so we can have the lists and then uh along with those are links to scripts that we will develop you know and then the rest of the production and editing plan and you know so we get down really into the details on how to produce all these things uh yeah but the you know so we we usually fly out there and uh and set everything up so you don't have to deal with the headache of you know worrying about what gear or equipment you're going to use you know or where you're going to sit in your house or whatever it is you know sometimes we we rent a space so like a vrbo or uh oh man what's the other one airbnb and there's there's other spaces too because we we have studios that we select and and we really adapt to where your brand and team is located um sometimes it makes sense to fly you out to our crew as well um but we have video suppliers all around the world um we truly are a global video agency where there is one week where we were filming we had film shoots happening um in amsterdam in park city in um was it boston uh and another city all in the same week happening and we're plugging in this framework handing it over to our our our video suppliers wherever they were around the world and then creating you know these different clients video supply for their business uh and so it really works pretty beautifully um and it's a and it doesn't uh take away from the authenticity that exists from your ability to show up on camera and that's that's where we really we really lean into showing off that human side because a lot of businesses maybe lean too much on stock footage or just animations which can be powerful to communicate certain things but if we don't show the face of the brand and your customers yourself then we can't build that same kind of um trust uh any other way and so we definitely lean into that type of messaging um and then you know as far as like the creation phase two and and josh you can speak this a little bit more too uh you know we often batch in two days but um we uh we want to get really clear on how the videos will be created so over these coming
